With Follow Me, your thermostat:

Captures the temperature and occupancy readings from each of the active sensors.
Ranks them according to where you’re spending the most time.
Delivers the optimal home temperature.

Smart Recovery. With the Smart Recovery feature enabled, your ecobee uses local weather information, your occupancy habits, and an ongoing analysis of your HVAC system’s heating and cooling patterns so that it’s always the right temperature at the right time.

For example, if you routinely wake up at 6 a.m., Smart Recovery will start your HVAC equipment in advance to ensure your home is at your desired temperature by the time you’re up. As your ecobee thermostat gets to know your schedule and your home’s heating and cooling patterns, it learns how long it takes your home to get to your desired temperature. The longer you’ve had your thermostat, the more data it has, and the better it gets at bringing your home to the desired temperature by a specific time.

Thermal Protect. Keep your home comfortable and prevent your HVAC system from excessive runtime with Thermal Protect. With it enabled, your ecobee thermostat will ignore a sensor when its readings diverge from those of your other sensors beyond a certain customizable limit. (This can sometimes happen when a sensor is placed in a room that tends to get hotter (e.g. attic) or cooler (e.g. the basement) than the rest of the home.)

How To Install:

1. Activate. Add SmartSensor with the + button in the ecobee app. Scan the QR code then pull the tab. Follow in-app set up steps.

2a. Place on surface. Using the stand, set your sensor on a surface around 4 feet off the ground and away from exterior walls and windows.

2b. Place on wall. Got curious children or pets? Simply attach your sensor to an out-of-reach spot on an interior wall. (No tools necessary!)
